Our Story
From a tiny kitchen experiment to Saint Paul's favorite scoop shop.
In 2015, Nellie was working as a pastry chef at a downtown Minneapolis restaurant. She loved the work, but something was missing — she wanted to create something of her own.
One summer afternoon, she started experimenting with ice cream in her apartment kitchen. Real vanilla beans. Fresh strawberries from the farmers market. No stabilizers, no shortcuts.
Friends started asking for pints. Then friends of friends. Before she knew it, she was renting commercial kitchen space and selling at the Saint Paul Farmers Market.
"I just wanted to make ice cream that tasted like the real thing."
— Nellie, Founder
